The major Tarrant County courthouses are located in a fairly small area of downtown Fort Worth. Street parking is available at parking meters and there are several pay parking lots available. Anytime you are due in court, it is important to allow yourself enough time for traffic, parking, and the final walk to the courthouse. Being late to court is never a good idea.
The historic 1895 Courthouse is often featured in photographs of downtown Fort Worth. Located at 100 W. Weatherford Street, it currently houses the following Tarrant county civil courts: County Court at Law No. 1; County Court at Law No. 2; and County Court at Law No. 3. The probate courts (Tarrant County Probate Court No. 1 and Tarrant County Probate Court No. 2) are also located here. The 1895 Courthouse also houses the Tarrant County Law Library.
The Tarrant County criminal district courts and county criminal courts are housed in the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center at 401 W. Belknap Street. If you are charged with a felony or misdemeanor in Tarrant County, this building is where your court is located. The following felony courts are located in the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center: Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 1; Criminal District Court No. 2; Criminal District Court No. 3; Criminal District Court No. 4; the 213th District Court; the 297th District Court; the 371st District Court; the 372nd District Court; the 396th District Court; and the 432nd District Court. The following misdemeanor courts are located in the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center: County Criminal Court No. 1; County Criminal Court No. 2; County Criminal Court No. 3; County Criminal Court No. 4; County Criminal Court No. 5; County Criminal Court No. 6; County Criminal Court No. 7; County Criminal Court No. 8; County Criminal Court No. 9; and County Criminal Court No. 10.
Family courts (divorce and SAPCR cases) are located in the Family Law Center located at 200 E. Weatherford Street. The following courts are located in this building: 231st District Court; 233rd District Court; 322nd District Court; 324th District Court; 325th District Court; 360th District Court; and the IV-D (Child Support) Courts.
The Tom Vandergriff Civil Courts Building is located at 100 N. Calhoun Street. This building houses the following Tarrant County civil district courts: the 17th District Court; the 48th District Court; the 7th District Court; the 96th District Court; the 141st District Court; the 153rd District Court; the 236th District Court; the 342nd District Court; the 348th District Court; and the 352nd District Court.
